Some stations have a cable that allows you to charge directly. If not, everything you need is in the boot of your car.
Where can I charge?
You can charge almost anywhere. You can charge your hired car at more than 200 charging stations across Bulgaria. Use
charging station map to find your nearest station. The number of public charging stations is constantly increasing.
We will provide you with charging cards for two of the paid charging networks. At the end of your rental, we will charge you for the electricity consumed. For €10 a day, you can rent a portable charging station from us, allowing you to charge from a three-phase socket.
How to charge an electric car?
In the boot of each electric car hired from us, you will find charging cables. To charge from the AC, plug a Type 2 cable into the station and into the car. DC stations have their own cables that must be connected to the electric car. Follow the steps at the charging station and wait for the required time. More types of charging stations can be found

Why does an electric car battery charge more slowly once it reaches 85%?
This is done to prolong the battery’s useful life.
How long does it take to charge?
Each electric car takes a different amount of time to charge, depending on the charging station, battery capacity, external temperature, etc. You will find detailed information on the page of each electric car we offer for rent. Take the electric VW ID.3 for example – its internal charger is 11kW when charging with AC, so it will take approximately 5 hours to charge from 0 to 100% at a slow charging station as its battery capacity is 58kWh. At a DC fast charging station, the car can be charged in approximately 1 hour.
How much does it cost to charge an electric car?
Each electric car we offer for rent has a battery of different capacity. Once you find out the battery capacity (measured in kWh), you can easily calculate how much a charge will cost you. If we assume that 1 kWh in Bulgaria costs on average about BGN 0.20, incl. VAT, and the battery of Tesla Model S is 75 kWh, it will cost you BGN 15 to fully charge the battery. The impressive thing is that those BGN 15 will let you travel up to 450 km (WLTP), depending on your driving style, and the car will at no point harm the environment by releasing harmful emissions. Sounds good, right?
Payment is usually easy and can be made via a mobile app, charge card or debit/credit card. If you decide to charge the rented car at home, the cost will be included in your next electricity bill.

Is it safe to charge in wet weather?
Yes, it is safe to charge in wet weather – public charging stations are weatherproof.
Can someone unplug the cable while my car is charging?
This only happens rarely when charging in public places. The cable is usually locked in both the charging station and the electric car, and only you can unlock and unplug it. After the charging session is over, some stations unlock the cable, which means someone else could disconnect it from the station. Sometimes, there are also cases of vandalism, an unavoidable part of city life.
Is it safe to charge when it rains?
Yes, you can charge an electric car while it is raining, but when plugging the cable into a station, make sure there is no water on its plug or in the station socket. Charge only at stations suitable for outdoor use. After making sure the plug is dry, you can connect the cable to the station. However, avoid charging in heavy rain or thunderstorms. Charging while it is snowing is usually safe, but again make sure the cable plug is dry before connecting it.
How can I pay for charging an electric car?
If you decide to charge at a paid station, you can use the cards for quick and easy payment you will receive from us along with the car documents. They are valid at the most popular charging stations in Bulgaria: Fines Charging and Eldrive. How it works: you charge using the cards and pay us at the end of the rental. What percentage will the battery have when I get the car?
When you pick up the car, it will be charged to a minimum of 80%.
How much battery charge do I have to return the car with?
The car must be returned with a charge than can last at least 30 km.
When will the deposit I put down when renting the car be unblocked?
After the vehicle is returned, we will hold the deposit amount pending verification of liabilities on the electric vehicle charge cards. When liabilities are established, the amount will be automatically withdrawn from the deposit and the balance will be released. In case that liabilities are not established, the deposit will be refunded in full.

How far can I go by electric car?
The distance each car can travel is different and mostly depends on the environment and driving style. Unlike petrol engine cars, every time you use an electrically powered car feature, you are actually draining the battery. The WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure) standard shows the user the real daily consumption of cars. You can find the distance calculated according to this standard on the page of every electric car we rent.
Where can I park?
Electric cars can be parked free of charge anywhere in the blue and green zones. When parking in other car parks or private ones, you will have to cover the cost.
Can I drive and charge an electric car in rainy weather?
All electric car components are designed to withstand weather such as rain and snow. The batteries are hermetically sealed and water- and moisture-proof. Don’t worry – you can safely drive, charge or clean an electric car in the rain.
