General information about Sunny Day

Sunny Day Resort

Sunny day is a luxury resort located 10 km north of Varna, 16 km away from Varna International Airport, next to the resort St. Constantine and Elena. The resort is located in a small bay facing east, with about 1,700 hours of sunshine from May to September.

The beach is about 1km long and the sea is shallow with a sandy bottom. Near Sunny Day is the Botanical Garden - Eco Park and the Nature Park "Golden Sands", which contribute to the cleanliness and freshness of the air. In the summer the average temperature is 26° C, and the water temperature is 24° C.

The complex has 4 modern hotels, with a total capacity of 1,300 beds. The mineral springs at 45° C create ideal conditions for spa and wellness tourism. Sunny Day has a marina for 17 yachts. The resort is good for both family and business tourism, as there are well-equipped conference halls. The resort offers many outdoor and indoor sport activities - swimming pools, tennis court, table tennis, diving and water sports and more.

Euxinograd Palace

The Palace was built in the late 19th century as royal summer residence. It has been modeled after the French Chateau de Saint-Cloud. The Palace has a beautiful park with over 310 different plants. It is still used as a summer residence for the Parliament.

Aladja Monastery

The monastery is carved into the rock and has over 20 rooms. It was created in 12th – 13th century. It is a national historical monument.

Botanic garden

Botanic garden is the first Eco Park in Bulgaria owned by the Sofia University. There are more than 300 species of exotic trees and bushes, and over 100 species of herbaceous plants. Botanical Garden is also known for its rich collection of irises, which are more than 250 varieties and over 30 varieties of roses.

The Church St. Constantine and Elena

It once was part of the monastery, built for Emperor Constantine. In the present, the Church is open for visitors.

Pobiti Kamani

This unique natural phenomenon is an ensemble of diverse stone columns (with different shape and size), asymmetrical scattered over an area of 7 square kilometers. It is located about 20 km west from Varna. Some of the hypothesis for their existence suggests that the area once was bottom of the Black Sea.

Balchik

Blachik is a beautiful small town located on the Black Sea, 40 km from Varna. It is famous for its botanical garden and the palace of Queen Mariya. There are two great golf courses near Balchik.

Archaeological Pliska

Located about 70 km from Varna, is the capital of the First Bulgarian Kingdom, founded by Chan Asparouh. The Archaeological Museum Reserve provides insight to the culture of the Bulgarians from VII to X century. The remains of Royal palace, pagan temple, a small palace, palace church, bathrooms, water storage, housing and basic impressive cathedral - the Great Basilica had been displayed for visitors as well.

Located on the remains of the second Bulgarian capital - Preslav, with an area of about 500 ha, about 100 km away from Varna. Studies show that Preslav was gorgeous and rich city worthy of comparison to Constantinople. In the museum exhibition can be considered works of Old Bulgarian and Byzantine art, including the famous icon of St. Theodor, Preslav gold treasure and ceramic iconostasis Palace Monastery, the largest and unique collection of lead seals.

Madara

It is located 17 km from the town of Shumen, above the village of Madara. The famous Madara Horseman carved into the rock of 23 meters height is depicting a horseman, a lion, dog, eagle and Greek inscriptions. At the foot of the rocks there is great cavern called "Cave of the Nymphs" used by the Thracians for religious rituals.
